| The Drive to Cape Hatteras from Cocoa Beach
Florida Driving... Driving... Driving...
we added it all together and it took us 20 hours to get from Cocoa
Beach to Cape Hatteras. Nothing very interesting happened except
when Kevin (our driver and only responsible adult) had to go number
two (take a dump) and there was no rest spot anywhere except down
a dirt road toward a totally ghetto area. I don't know what Kevin
ate but sounds of jubilation could be heard from the bushes as
the sweet smell wafted into our car windows from his potty break.
Sorry to bore you with those details, but other than sleeping
and doing homework. It was an uneventful day and night on the
road.
Finally reaching our destination, we decided to
take a short surf session before going to the house and for the
first time I surfed at the light house in Cape hatteras. The lighthouse
is rather majestic and stood stark against the afternoon sky,
I'd finally made it to Hatteras and in true surfer form could
not wait to hit the water and stretch my muscles and wash off
the crusty feeling of traveling so long.
For some crazy reason we all decided to skin it
(no wetsuits) because it was only a short session. Big mistake
I lasted about 25 minutes and had to get out because my lips were
turning blue. Cape Hatteras Water is so much colder than our home
waters at Cocoa Beach. Altogether I had a fun session and
the dip did me good.
It's night time now I'm sitting here journaling
this for you in my bunkbed in a three story house with a heated
pool, jacuzzi and a pool table, oh and don't forget the TV. I'm
all unpacked and feeling at home except for the Television.
NOTE: My parents have been married almost 17 years
and have never purchased a television. I love the the TV and it's
always nice to passout watching it at night. You can read more
about my parent's decision to not have TV on my mom's website
[Captain
Gina].
PS: I forgot to mention we stopped at a Mexican
Disney Land that had rides and we all got sombreros. The theme
park was totally like a ghost town. We are now offically the Cape
Surf Mexican SurfTeam.
I hope to have photographs tomorrow , I had to read
this to my mom over the phone because of no internet connection.
Thanks for reading my blog tonight
