An Incredible Weekend
February 17, 2009, My Sixteenth Birthday
These past couple of days have been some of the best times I've had in awhile. On Saturday was the Surfet Saltwater Challenge all girl contest for breast cancer. I had a awesome time with a lot of my friends in 1 - 3 ft. surf all day. Free stuff was being given away and there were so many raffles that the beach was in a fun uproar all day. I ended up placing third in the pro division and winning two hundred dollars which was exciting as well. Later everyone at the contest showed up at the skate park for a girls skate for free night! I always love Surfet contests because it is such a good atmosphere with plenty of fun all day.
My 16th birthday was on Tuesday, so I decided to have a big party on the Sunday before with a bunch of my friends. Everyone showed up about two o'clock we hung around and talked. When all my friends arrived we headed to the beach at the end of my street to dig our feet in the sand, or some of my more crazier friends actually jumped in the freezing water (the weather had been so nice but that day it was overcast and cold at the beach). I had about forty friends at my house and we had a blast socializing, skate boarding, watching the movie Superman on a big outdoor screen and taking turns learning how to swing dance from one of my friends who showed up kinda unexpectedly. The big highlight of my birthday was a box of chocolates that contained a car key inside from my grandparents! I was not expecting a car at all and I'm soooooo thankful to have one. It is a Chevy Malibu and the best part about it is that it gets me were I want to go.
My mom's birthday was also this past weekend so on Tuesday night I decided to treat us two birthday girls to the movie, Shopaholic. It was the perfect girls movie and I had an awesome time with my mom. To top everything off I was thrilled to come home the other day after school and find a huge box of Roxy clothes. Thanks Torri, for a great birthday present! Well, so far the first sixteen years of my life have been incredible and I'm sure the rest will be just as good too (until I start getting in my 40s) not looking forward to that:-). |
