Sebastian Inlet Surfing Second Peak
Directly north of first peak Sebastian
Inlet is a longer and less defined break called second
peak or 2nd Peak. Second
peak can connect wedge into the more prominent and
popular first peak and has both a right and left. To me it
seems like 2nd peak is more about lefts than rights because
if I want a nice right I move over a hundred yards and pick
off a first peak wedge from the crowd against the north
fishing pier.
Second peak is also a better spot to surf if you don't like
the performance pressure of the 1st peak crowd. You'd better
eat your wheaties if your gonna surf first peak or just move
on down the beach to 2nd or 3rd peak where there's usually
less surfers. I've made friends with many of the top pecking
order guys at first peak and when I'm having trouble getting
a wave they usually give me a hand and let me get one every
now and then. Hey I'm just a little surfer girl, I need the
break.
