Summer!
It is FINALY the end of the school year, and the beginning of a whole new summer! I passed all my classes, including my college psychology class, with flying colors and even managed to make it through the last week of exams. Another plus was that for our awards ceremony I placed second in an essay writing contest winning fifty dollars and was inducted into the National Honors Society. I am so glad to be out of school! The last several weeks have been beyond hectic as school has been coming to a close, studying, and I have decided that mother nature doesn't like our house all that much as we have been hit by a tornado and just recently lightening.
In addition to the excitement of summer break, we just had our first ESA district contest of the year and I placed first in Junior Women's. This year I also decided to do the Open division as well, which is a bunch of guys and two of my girl friends. The funny part is that I made it through my first six man heat taking first place and beating all the guys! I have to say I was pretty shocked and it did feel really awesome (I'm going to hold that against them forever, lol). In the Open semis I ended up in fourth place missing third by a fraction of a point. I was just super hyped up to have made it out of the first heat that I didn't mind too much and was glad to have surfed more than just one heat. Next time those guys better watch out!
My summer is packed with good fun ahead from staying on the Jersey shore, my annual Mexico surf trip with dad and friends, then at the beginning of the school year a trip to Cali for USA team trials and later off to Cape Hatteras for ESA Easterns! I do have a lot of fun stuff ahead but I am also working on transferring from MICS private school to Cocoa Beach High (my first public school experience ever! Ahhh!), registering for more college courses, and gathering up as much community service as I can as to work towards my Bright Futures Scholarship. I have much to take care of but I look forward to accomplishing it all.
So stoked it's summer! Need to go surf! |
