Tyler Thornsley

We met Tyler's family last year at the beach during a contest and kept seeing his parents bring him to the beach before school in the mornings. Hmmmm... it wasn't long after that we started surfing together on a regular basis and our parents are turning into great friends.

Tyler grew up surfing the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii on breaks like pipeline, backdoor and log cabins. They had a house they lived in directly infront of pipeline and adjacent to Jack Johnson's house where they spent evenings listening to JJ lulabuys and watching Kelly Slater get tubed again and again and again.

My dad snapped the above shot of Tyler before he came in and changed before heading to classes that morning. Tyler is a great student and a close friend, we surf together often and he pushes my surfing abilities beyond my limits. Tyler's dad owns Cape Surf Shop in Cape Canaveral and goes back to Hawaii almost every year with him.

I have to go now because Tyler's mother is coming over to pick me up and take me surfing.
